Cute but bad fit

Cute shoes, but the fit is not good. I ordered a narrow, but the shoes fit like a medium. Makes me wonder if the manufacturer simply labeled some medium and some narrow, but used the identical form for both.

The size is true, they are stunning. However my ankles tend to swell throughout the day so the straps aren't going to work for me.
