Made soft/run big

They’re very comfortable for a dress shoe, with a soft edging. Many shoe leathers are stiff and can chafe under the ankles, even through a sock. Almost all mens dress shoes with European sizing run nearly a whole size bigger than U.S. sizes. These are no different. I’m usually a 10-1/2 and was told to order the equivalent of a 9-9-1/2. I was very surprised they fit, even with my hard orthotic inserted on top of the shoe insoles. Nice shoe for a reasonable price.
