Good quality construction, beautiful design
I was somewhat worried about this item as some reviews mentioned poor quality. I received well built bed, solid and it looks great! Dark espresso color with almost matte finish, all parts were packaged well to ensure safe delivery and I assembled it myself easily. It doesn't wobble, every middle rail has additional foot to ensure good support. Overall great purchase

Beautiful Bed, But Poor Construction
We found a great deal on the floor model set that included the bed, nightstand, dresser and mirror. We absolutely love the look of this set; however, as several other reviewers have noted, the construction on the bed is not the best quality. After less than two months, one of the side support rails split and separated from the side of the bed. The wood on the support rails appears to be more like particle board rather than solid wood and was attached to the side of the bed only with glue and a couple small screws. Fortunately, my husband was able to repair it, and then he added extra support under the slats to take some of the pressure off the side rails. If you choose to purchase this bed, I would definitely recommend getting an extended warranty or reinforce the frame yourself before using. We are not large people, so I definitely would not expect the wood to give way like that in such a short time.

Update 4/11/17 - I originally bought this bed in May of 2014, so three years later I can say this bed has held up fabulously! I currently have a regular sized box spring, 13-15 inch mattress, and a memory foam top. This bed holds 2 people that weight over 200 lbs each. BUT, as I put in my earlier review (which I have pasted below), you must buy support beams for this bed. For whatever reason, the bed came with 3 weak wooden beams. One of the beams broke the first night we slept on the bed, so I'm not surprised to see more reviews pertaining to that. It is a worthy bed, especially if you get it a good sale price, but you must invest in a good set of metal support beams. Afterwards, this bed should last you a long while and it looks beautiful and modern. Original review 5/8/14 - First of all, this bed is gorgeous! It has clean, modern lines and it's quite large, but not overly so. It has a nice dark, espresso finish. You will need a box spring for this bed and I recommend getting a high mattress due to the height of the headboard and footboard. I'm currently using a box spring and 13-15 inch queen mattress and the mattress is just slightly 1 inch above the footboard. It looks great with my new bedspread set. One negative about the bed that you should be mindful of...the 3 support beams underneath the bed are pretty useless. The middle beam cracked the first night, no lie! I had to order something called GS-3 XS Center Support metal support beams. Now the bed is perfect and I can tell will last us a long time to come. I love going to bed early now!
We LOVE this bed!
We ended up buying the whole matching set (including nightstands and chest) during Macy's President's Day sale and we LOVE IT! It looks great in our bedroom, is really sturdy, and is the perfect height off the ground with our 6 inch box spring and mattress (I am 5'7", my husband is 6'5"). The delivery people assembled everything and were really professional - they didn't bang a single wall and even got to our house early. So early that one of them even helped us set up the rug in our bedroom and helped us move out our previous mattress to the guest bedroom. Overall, couldn't recommend this bed more and would encourage you to get it delivered/assembled - it was worth the delivery fee to not have to lift a finger for perfect assembly.

Love it!
I fell in love with this bed when I saw it at the store. Ended up coming back the next day to purchase it while it was still on sale, as well as the matching dresser. Unfortunately, the dresser wasn't in stock, but we got the bed scheduled for delivery for a few days later. The delivery guys came right at the top of the delivery window, and were very efficient. The bed looks awesome! I'm really pleased with it. What I'm most impressed with, is that I got a call a few days later from the Macy's sales associate telling me that the bed had gone on sale even more, 2 days before the delivery date. So they were giving it to me at the sale price, saving me an extra $118. Awesome!! I just got the email saying the dresser was in, so it came in a week earlier than previously thought which is great.
Bed broke in a little over a year
We purchased this bed and the supporting beams broke in a little over a year. A customer reported a similar complaint in the Queen size. We repurchased the bed because we had invested in the matching pieces, but we made sure to get the extended warranty. It is a beautiful piece but should not break.
