Does this have an auto shut off?

it heats water great but does not seem to have an auto off if you forget to turn this off when you leave home.

Plastic inside the kettle

There is plastic inside the kettle and on the lid. Not recommended if you want your water to not taste like plastic.

I thought it was good, but I was wrong

I bought the kettle 14 months ago and I’ve been using it for about 1 year. Cons: to turn it off, it needs to be unplugged; after 1 year, chemicals leach into water after boiling it (not covered by warranty) Pros: temperature control (even if it’s limited); prompt customer service

Hot water !

The elite gourmet electric kettle does save time. I’ve always used a whistling tea kettle to make hot water for various things however my electric kettle is much faster and I can adjust the temperature on it. It will also hold the temperature at a certain setting. The body does get hot but then so does my whistling tea kettle. You just have to learn where to pick it up from.

Do not Buy

The lid pops off when you are trying to pour out the boiling hot water and the base will not sit flat. BIG design flaws!

Effective kettle with one annoying feature

I really like this kettle, it’s cute and heats up quickly. The temperature selection is really nice so if I need a cooler temperature for my tea I can set one. The one annoying feature is the keep warm since I can’t seem to turn it off without unplugging the base. Once I remove the kettle to pour the switch is in the off position, but if I place the kettle back on it still fires in to keep it warm. I tried switching it off and it still didn’t seem to work.
