I always enjoy Kylie Scott’s writing. She has this way of making the characters feel so relatable, like we’re friends in real life. This was such a fun audio, too. I ate this one up.

Suspend belief & enjoy!
End of Story is a charming enemies-to-lovers romance with a mystical, paranormal twist. The last person Susie wants to work with to restore her aunt's crumbling home is Lars -- the best friend of her ex, who had cheated on her. Things get even more awkward between Lars and Susie when they find an old divorce decree hidden in a wall of the house -- THEIR divorce decree, dated in the future! As Lars and Susie try to figure out the mystery of their marriage and divorce, they discover that they are wildly attracted to one another… and Lars turns out to be exactly what Susie needs in her life. This story is relatively short, and easy to read. The mystical aspect of it was interesting, a nice twist to the standard enemies-to-lovers fare. Once these two got past their bickering, Lars and Susie were really well-matched. You definitely need to suspend belief a bit with End of Story, but it's a great -- if unconventional! -- journey that is sweet, sexy, and swoony. Narrator Andi Arndt did a great job in telling Susie's story! I received a complimentary audio copy and voluntarily left a review.

A unique and engrossing story!
The narration of this audiobook by Andi Arndt sent this one up to 5 Stars for me. I loved every inflection! I missed the first book that leads to this one. I'm sorry for that if it was as good as this one, but I think this worked as a standalone just fine. It's a very unique and engrossing story of two people, who really don't like each, other discovering an old document in a wall when it is torn down. That paper is actually a divorce creed with their names on it...dated ten years in the future. This totally throws them into a tizzy of blaming each other for playing nasty tricks on the other. They explore other avenues to see if they can find an explanation. Susie and Lars coming together as a couple is done really well. They are torn in their emotions with the divorce papers seeming to project their future. Is it all hopeless, even if they fall in love? The ending was superb and gave me such happy vibes! Well worth the listening time! Thanks to Valentine PR for the gifted copy. All thoughts are my own.

Sweet, lighthearted romance with a dose of magic
Susie has inherited her beloved aunt's house. After hiring a local construction company for renovations, the last person she wanted to show up does. Lars is the best friend of Susie's ex. An ex who broke her heart, an ex who's a big jerk. While tearing out a wall they run across a divorce certificate that puts them on a path to unravel the origins. I loved the evolution of their relationship. For Susie, Lars is the enemy. We get some fun banter, but Lars is just a really good guy and soon they develop a friendship that is both cute and sweet. Susie is a quirky and likable character. Lars stole the show, he's genuine, caring, protective, and puts off those alpha growls that I love. An element of magical realism leads to a bit of mystery. Of course, I was wrapped up in the mystery of the certificate. The certificate leads to some witty conversation about the "end of their relationship". This was a fun, lighthearted romance. It has a lot of those fun elements I enjoy; opposites attract, a dose of grumpy sunshine, friends to lovers, close proximity, and a growly man.

Sweet
This book hits on so many different things. There's the mystery of where the divorce papers came from, the humorous moments, the ex's best friend, the slow build romance, and the relationships between friends and families that will have you adoring some and hating others. It was an interesting take that I'd never seen done in quite this way, and suggest giving a try! The audiobook was well done and soothing to listen to. Andi Arndt did a great job of making this one easy to listen to.

Romantic Magical Realism
Kylie Scott’s End of Story is a fun, quirky romance. It is a unique blend of micro-genres; there is a tiny bit of magical realism, humor and friends-to-lovers. New homeowner Susie hires help to renovate the house. When hunky, handy Lars shows up at the door both the trouble and the sparks begin. Lars is the best friend of Susie’s ex-boyfriend, and he is also impossibly handsome and truly a good guy. Both characters are well developed, but neither truly pulled me into the story. While I enjoyed their chemistry and banter, I wasn’t in love with the amount of time focused on the mystical divorce certificate. Readers who love mystical realism, will undoubtedly enjoy this book more than I did. I did enjoy it, but I was hoping for more humor than I found.

Swoony, Destiny & Sweet Spiciness...
4 1/2 "fated" stars This book had a little bit of everything that I enjoy - - wonderfully developed characters, a mystical fate themed storyline, a somewhat taboo relationship (he's the best friend of her ex) and an ex that you love to hate. Ms. Scott did a lovely job of blending these all together into a book that kept me glued to my e-reader. When Susie inherits a fixer upper from her aunt, she calls the most reputable company in town to bid repairs for it. Of course, they send out Lars, her ex boyfriend's best friend. As awkward as it is for both of them, she doesn't want to send him away because she knows he'll do great work. But when he finds a divorce certificate with both of their names on it dated ten years in the future tucked in a wall, he's livid. He's convinced that she's pranking him. Once they realize that neither of them had anything to do with it, the mystery becomes one that Susie becomes obsessed with trying to solve. Meanwhile, it opens the door for them to entertain the idea that if that certificate of divorce could somehow be from the future, then at some point, they actually get married which means they must give in to the attraction they try to ignore. From that point forward, the way they try to ignore the attraction becomes pretty deliberate. Lars even goes as far as to try dating other women to avoid Susie. But nothing works. Chemistry will eventually win out. It's a fun and spicy read. I really liked the push and pull between these two characters. It's evident that there was a connection between them long before they were willing to acknowledge it. Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to read and review it and the opinions contained with are my own.

Three stars
pov: You inherit a house from your late aunt in the PNW and the person that shows up from the hired contractor is none other than your terrible ex’s best friend. While fixing up the house, you find a seemingly real divorce certificate trapped in the wall with both of your names on it… dated ten years in the future. An ex’s best friend magical realism romance with some cuteness and humor and no second act breakup! I was excited for this one because of the PNW setting. It was alright, fell a little flat for me in terms of plot but I think some others might enjoy. The audio narrator was fantastic though!
