Beware of Ordering Beauty Products Online

I ordered the eye cream because it came with a gift bag of items. However the same day I ordered I got an email stating the gift bag was out of stock. I called Macys and they apologized for the problem but nothing they could do and I couldn’t cancel the order. I had to wait and then return it to the store. Very disappointed as this all happened in one day.

Bait and switch

This feedback is not about the eye gel. I have used it for years and will continue to do so. The feedback is about the order itself. The product was advertised as coming with a free 6 piece gift. I received confirmation of the order including the gift. Later in the morning, after the deadline for cancelling had occurred, I was notified that the 6 piece gift was unavailable. I have had this happen previously. When I called customer service, I was told there was nothing they could or would do. They to.d me I could decline delivery when it comes, however, there is no signature required and it is being delivered by USPS, so the likelihood, I could do is very low. This transaction very much felt like bait and switch. Macy needs to keep their website updated. Although the delivery date was listed as Friday, it is now Monday and allegedly coming today. I will return this order and have ordered directly from Este Lauder with no difficulty getting the gift set. I will not be ordering from Macy’s again.
