So Cute!!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Oh my gosh this one was sooooo cute!! I was in the mood for a light, fun read and this one so delivered. From the beginning I was hooked by Lea’s writing style and the way that the characters seemed to come alive. Tara was so funny and so relatable to all of us delulu book girlies lol. I loved watching her and Trevor’s romance unfold and the angsty and tension filled friends to lovers vibe that we got. Overall a very cute, fun, and addicting read and would definitely recommend! 4/5 stars

... and they were ROOMATES! (Friends-to-Lovers)
... and THEY WERE ROOMATES! As someone who isn't big on the friends-to-lovers trope, this read was an unexpected delight. If you're looking for a romance novel that is OH SO FUN, this is *it*! I couldn't put it down, and thoroughly enjoyed the characters, setting, and plot. SYNOPSIS: Tara Chen loves love, romance novels, and is obsessed with finding "The One". She decides if she can't find love in new places, why not revisit the love of exes past? But she can't do it alone, and enlists the help of her new (sexy, firefighter) roommate, Trevor. Trevor agrees reluctantly even though love isn't his thing, but can't resist the magnetic pull of Tara. I think you can see where this is going ;). That being said, I have not yet read "Set on You" which is book 1 in this universe, but it didn't affect my experience with the book. I loved the characters and connected right away, even without reading the 1st book.

Not For Me
I didn’t like this one as much as the first one, partly because I never warmed to Tara. Despite also having a Bookstagram (I am far from being an influencer), there wasn’t anything else I could connect with. Her clinginess and constant self-reflection were cringeworthy. Trevor was OK but didn’t really do anything for me either. I guess part of my issue is that she conducts this social experiment where she looks up former boyfriends and then publishes it all on her social media, without thinking about how they would feel about this. I wish I had liked this one more.

Fun & Flirty Rom-Com!
Thank you @berkleyromance for the free copy — all opinions are my own I thought this was a fun rom-com that made me smile and swoon! Tara was funny and sweet, and Trevor a sexy player with a hidden thoughtful side. My biggest critiques for this book was I found the romance to be slow for my liking, and thought multiple times how much I wished it was dual POV. But it was fun reading about Tara’s bookstagrammer life, her Ex List, and her and Trevor’s roommate turned friendship turned relationship develop. It is a great book to pick up before Valentine’s Day if you want a steamy slow burn romance! Tropes: - Slow burn - Friends to lovers - Forced proximity - Bad boy/player - Steamy

Hilarious, heartfelt, and utterly swoon-worthy
Hopeless romantic (and stage-five clinger) Tara Chen decides to revisit her former boyfriends, to hopefully find the perfect second chance love. Tara's extremely hot but guarded firefighter flatmate, Trevor Metcalfe, has no interest in relationships. When she enlists his help, he begins to let down his walls. If you loved the movie, 'What's Your Number?' this one's for you. I loved Tara immediately. As soon as she mentioned pointy elbows on public transport, I knew she was my kind of person. Yes, she really is intense about love, and yes, she's sometimes impulsive, but, just like Trevor, I couldn't help but to love her. Meanwhile, Trevor was ADORABLE. I absolutely loved his seemingly resigned acceptance, then growing fondness for all of Tara's quirks. The slow burn was perfection, and I LOVED the mutual pining. The Disney references were perfection, and I could literally picture Trevor dressed as Flynn! *Chef's kiss* The Bookstagram moments were cute, although I didn't personally see the point of the staging directions. But that's a minor issue. This was my favourite kind of romance: utterly swoon-worthy. *Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to leave an honest review*

This Book! All the feels...
This book! I am at a temporary loss for words on how to describe this book. So heartwarming, sweet, and endearing. I have never had a romantic comedy with such a touching happily ever after (HEA) that I was emotionally drained, in the best of ways, by the time I read the last page. One warning - I was not aware this was book #2 of a series when I read it. For those interested in reading the first book in the influencer series, Set on You, read it BEFORE reading this one as it does tell you essentially the entire third act of that book. Tara Chen is a romance book reviewer who has a habit of blurring the lines between fantasy and fiction. With a recent breakup and an unexpected move, Tara finds herself desperately seeking her really life HEA. Taking her grandmother’s advice, Tara decides, with the help of her gorgeous firefighter roommate Trevor, to go back through her past and make her own second chance romance come true. Trevor still can’t figure out how he has gotten roped into Tara’s “brilliant” plan to rekindle a relationship with a former ex in time for the Valentine’s Day gala. As each hilarious encounter crosses an ex off the list, Trevor finds himself, not only growing closer to his roommate, but becoming personally invested in her ending. The question is, can fantasy handle what reality has to offer. What I like about the book: It was hilarious to see the role of a book influencer, book reviewer fictionalized. Going with the idea of life imitating art, imitating life; I had to wonder how much fellow influencers have blurred that line, especially in the realm of falling in love with fictional men - i.e. the coveted book boyfriend. I liked how Tara tried to keep her grip on reality but every situation spilled over to a trope for her, giving her the “answers” she needed to figure out the situation, not realizing that real life doesn’t work that way (which of course is hilarious as this is a roommates to friends to lovers trope making fun of itself!) As for spice - the heated scenes between Tara and Trevor will leave condensation on any window. What I love about it: I loved how layered Trevor was in the book. Sure, he was the “hot playboy with a trouble past” but I enjoyed how Amy used that past, like a real person, to build his present. There is so much more to him than a pretty face and a great body. We get to know him as Tara does and we can see how the fantasy corrupts the realistic situations that do happen in real life (a much needed reminder that the guys normally written in your average romantic comedy are WRITTEN for women). To dive even further, I loved how much Tara's grandmother shares her abundance of knowledge, dispelling the allure of the fantasy and grounding of reality through her advice. She’s right, problems can’t be fixed by one conversation and in real life, miscommunication is inevitable. It isn’t just about communicating, but learning how to effectively communicate (and there is nothing wrong with seeking outside help to make this happen). It is also important to speak your truth, consequences be darned because they're nothing more powerful than owning how you feel, who you are, and not compromising for the sake of not being judged. For a romantic comedy novel to stand the test of time, it needs to be one that provokes such strong feelings, you are drawn to it time and time again to get that fix - whether it is overwhelming joy, a much needed laugh, confirmation of self worth, etc. This book provides all that and more. I can't wait for others to fall in love with this story and whatever else Amy writes in the future!
