I absolutely loved this so much!
*****5 Stars! "Good things happen when I follow my heart, even when it's hard, even when it feels impossible." I received an ARC of this book through a giveaway. Thank you Alyson Derrick and Riveted by Simon Teen for this opportunity! Where do I even begin? This book was absolutely beautiful! The moment I started it I couldn’t seem to put it down even for a second; it kept me hooked and desperate to know how it was going to end. This book was one of the most charming and heartwarming romances I’ve read so far this year, it showed that even in times of hardship and uncertainty true love will always prevail. This book filled me with so many different emotions as I was reading it, I couldn’t help but feel such a deep connection with not only the characters but the setting. Stevie and Nora were such beautifully written characters, both of them so genuine and full of heart. I really enjoyed their relationship, and Nora’s dedication especially. I admired the character for remaining strong in such an unexpected and heart wrenching situation; I also liked the fact that she never forced Stevie to remember nor tried to push her into anything she wasn’t comfortable with. The fact that she was willing to remain by her side, whether Stevie remembered her or not was so beautiful! I also enjoyed the dual POVs from Stevie’s side of the story to Nora’s letters as she tries to find her way through the situation. With Stevie’s perspective it’s interesting to see how things changed for her and how old relationships faded, and how in a way her amnesia gave her a second chance to go about things in her life. Another character I adored was Ryan, he was such a good guy! I admired how well he took the situation and how wonderful of a friend he was. Honestly, all I could think while reading this book was that it needed a movie or a show asap! I feel like I can gush over this book forever! I would highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a beautiful, honest and emotional love story! I absolutely cannot wait to read what Alyson Derrick writes next!

I'm definitely crying
First of all, that cover. Holy moly it is absolutely beautiful. Second, in reading the blurb, I just knew this book was going to make me cry and it did. So much. This story is such a beautiful capture of love in its many forms. How through even with amnesia and other forces pulling them apart, Stevie and Nora are able to find their way back to each other. I do wish there had been more with Stevie's parents coming to terms with her sexuality, the ending did seem a little rushed, and I wouldn't have minded another 50 pages to sort everything out. But overall I still loved this story and think it is well worth the read.

An All-Time Favorite Book
Thank you so much to Simon Teen for sending me an advance reader's copy in exchange for an honest review. Forget Me Not is in the running to be my favorite book of 2023 — and it's one of my favorite books I've ever read. This book was beautiful, heart-wrenching, vivid, and so, so absorbing. I refuse to shut up about this book until everyone has read it. (go on. read it!) Forget Me Not follows Stevie after she has a horrible fall and head injury, causing her to lose the memories of the past two years of her life. Two years that shaped her into who she is, two years in which she met Nora, the love of her life, and came to terms with her sexuality. Two years full of secrets and hurt and distance but most of all, love. I rooted for Stevie and Nora the entire way. Their love is one of the most authentic and personal depictions I've ever read. The little details Nora shared with Stevie, the rediscoveries Stevie made about Nora, and the new memories they forged together made their relationship breathe off the page. The love that Stevie and Nora have is indestructible, and it truly transcends all. There wasn't a piece of this book that didn't have intention, that wasn't handled with love and care and understanding — from the explorations of racism and racist microaggressions, to coming out in an ultra-conservative town, to the contrast between conditional and unconditional love. Forget Me Not is not a story about fixing the past, it's a story of rediscovery. It's about rediscovering what it means to love someone, and how to have dreams and the will to pursue them. I know this is a book I will hold closer to my heart with each day that passes. I hope you let it enter yours. Content Warnings: homophobia, racism and racist microaggressions, amnesia/head injury, hospital stay, on-page child abuse of a side character, side character kicked out of the house, manipulation
