heavier weight

The jersey lining is soft but definitely makes this a warmer/heavier jacket. Great if that's what you're looking for; but if you're looking for more of a lightweight windbreaker or something that's easy to stash in a bag just in case, this is too bulky. Definitely less of a "just in case" kind of jacket and more like a, "I know it's chilly outside and I will be wearing this for warmth the entire time."
