Stylish but very small

I ordered this in Black in a Medium size as a gift for someone who usually wears a size Small. This looks very small in the Medium. I normally wear a Medium and I would have to get the Large or even Extra Large. It doesn't seem to have much stretch either. It is a very cute style and nice material though.
