Risky .fear of falling

I was.excited when I found this chair with this price on a Macy's. I have been searching for a while and finally decided on this one. shipping time was reasonable. the assembly was painfully long. the cushion quality is great but the piston doesn't rise up to a higher position and the locking system for the back is not reliable. my brother who is 6' and 180lbs tried it out and fell back ..literally. I am going to reach out to customer service and see if they will help. Disassembling is going to be a pain so I might just donate it with instructions or trash it.
