Harry Potter spent ten long years living with Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, an aunt and uncle whose outrageous favoritism of their perfectly awful son Dudley leads to some of the most inspired dark comedy since Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But fortunately for Harry, he's about to be granted a scholarship to a unique boarding school called THE HOGWORTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY, where he will become a school hero at the game of Quidditch (a kind of aerial soccer played high above the ground on broomsticks), he will make some wonderful friends, and, unfortunately, a few terrible enemies. For although he seems to be getting your run-of-the-mill boarding school experience (well, ok, even that's pretty darn out of the ordinary), Harry Potter has a destiny that he was born to fulfill. A destiny that others would kill to keep him from.

Best Book.

From the moment I started reading this book I could tell that it was a fun, unforgettable, and an adventurous story. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is the first book in the Harry Potter series about an 11 year old boy that found out he was a wizard and was sent to the finest school of witchcraft and wizardry: Hogwarts. Harry Potter has two best friends, Ron and Hermoine. Together, they face challenges and fight mythical creatures on campus. I will most remember the peeves, because they were not in the movie and I found them really funny and interesting. Peeves are ghosts that are known for their foolish behavior. In conclusion i would recommend you to read this book if you love the Harry Potter movies and have never read the book or even if your looking for a fun and easy read.

This book is a great read!

I read this book for my summer reading and it was better than I expected! When people ask why I love fantasy so much I bring up this masterpiece. Harry is a boy from the United Kingdom that goes through a series of challenges and finds out something that changes his life. This book keeps you up at night with cliffhangers and things to think about as the book has lots of details. When reading through this book I felt like I was in a magical world and could understand some of Harry's problems. If you're looking to read a book that is hard to put down, this is the perfect choice.

Great read

I loved this book. It pulled me into the story fast and easily. I couldn't put it down. I think this is a great story for any age reader as long as you like magic and like the underdog being the main character. It was very emotional, both the parts that had me laughing and the parts that were tear jerker moments. This book is very well written.

A New Library Begins...

The Harry Potter books were the first books that began my first two Great Grandchildren's Library. I now have another Great Grandchild, so his library will begin with the Harry Potter books as well. They're on my bookshelf, too!

Adventures of the boy who live start!

I was in 5th grade when I had to buy this book for a homework assignment. I didn't really read it then but I picked it up again in 7th grade after watching the movies and I fell in love. I wasn't much of a reader then so it took me time to completely read the book and I loved every part of this book. It's a thrilling novel for people of all ages by J.K Rowling. The novel is set in a fictional world where wizards and witches live among humans or muggles. Harry Potter, a skinny boy with round spectacles held together by Stoch tape, is the main character. His adventure begins when he travels to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry after he turns 11. His school year is quite interesting, from befriending Ronald Weasley to saving Hermione Granger (his two best friends forever). Together, the three discover shocking hidden secrets and fight daring battles. They end up becoming the perfect three-man team.
