Bad quality and stitching
I bought this bag in 2024 and today is the first time using it. Packed light and within an hour one of the main straps came loose. Problem is the stitching of the strap. This seems to be a recurring problem with high Sierra backpacks. Also had the xbt TSA pack and the seam pulled out on the top. No more high Sierra packs for me.

The quality of the product is very poor and cheap. Did not last even 4 months!

Almost perfect..... getting closer!
This is my third XBT. I travel heavy and carry more than this was probably designed for. However, though all the travel and carried weight, the first two lasted ok, but the back straps where they attach were always the first to go.... So on this third one (now three years old and a few hundred thousand miles), as soon as it started to unravel at the strap anchor, I melted a bolt hole thru the strap.....and inserted a stainless hex bot with washers and nuts..... hasnt changed in over a year.... When I buy my fourth one, I'll immediately add the strap bolts, and then I expect the pack to last until I retire.

Amazing except defective water bottle pocket
Overall great backpack for high school with lots of pockets and well made for heavy use. I would love to give it 5 out of 5 starts. The only issue we have is the water bottle pockets. The mesh of the water bottle pockets always fails quickly. My have had several of these backpacks over the years and love the design but the water bottle mesh needs to be improved. I have fixed the mesh holes with gore-tex fabric patches which hold up for a a year or two but I wish I didn't have to do that. Other than that, the bags are great. We are debating right now if we should replace it with the same one and deal with the bad water bottle mesh design or try a different brand.

Bad quality
I purchase this one a few months ago and started to felt apart, quality decrease since the last one I have.

Ok, Weird Configuration
This backpack is okay, but the configuration of the main compartment is really weird. Both the back laptop zipper and the main compartment zipper open into the main compartment. With the little tablet pocket in front of the laptop sleeve it really leaves the main compartment not super functional for use, especially if packing clothing type items when traveling. In addition, the material on the bottom of the backpack does not seem super durable. I use my backpack mainly for work (only going to the office twice a week) and the occasional travel. After such light use the material on the bottom of the backpack is still wearing a hole.

Great backpack
Great size and compartments. Truly a quality product. Let's see how it holds up to my son's abuse, lol.
