Helpful

This is a comprehensive guide to grilling vegetables. It includes a grilling "how to" section in the front that is invaluable. This will instruct a new griller and enhance the skills of a seasoned veteran. The photos are gorgeous and there are so many recipes I want to try, especially when it stops snowing and gets a little warmer outside! The recipes that caught my eye were: Grilled Radishes with Roquefort Butter and Shitakes Channeling Bacon (Crispy Smoked Shitakes), Caveman Corn, Grilled Carrots, Cajun Hobo Packs, Mechoui Cauliflower with Moroccan Spices, and Grilled Vegetable Paella. This is not a completely plant based cookbook, but the recipes can be adjusted as required to fit any way of eating. Anyone interested in adding more veggies in their life in a flavorful way will enjoy this book. I received a free copy of this book from the publishers via Netgalley. My review is voluntary.

all you need to know!

This is such a good cookbook. The beginning shows every little thing that is needed to grill some vegetables. You don't need to be a vegetarian to get something from the book. What the best part is that it gives real life pictures of what each vegetable looks like grilled. The recipes that come is easily to be read and used. Again, I loved the pictures of what it will look like when you are finished with the recipe.

A classic!

Don't let the simple title fool you. How to Grill Vegetables is an encyclopedic look at grilling vegetables in ways that highlight their natural flavors. Author Steven Raichlen has included everything that a novice home cook needs to know with sophisticated techniques and recipes that will appeal to the more advanced chef. The cookbook begins with the basics, described in simple language and accompanied by photographs. What kind of grill or smoker will you use and what kind of accessories do you need? Temperatures and techniques follow as well as some grilling hack advice. Recipes are next. They are organized, with mouth watering photographs, into the expected groups: starters, salads, small plates, salads and sides, etc. My favorites are the grilled corn on the cob with parmesan, Old Bay seasoning, or wasabi butter; Romesco Sauce and, for dessert, Hasselback apples, thinly sliced and featuring rum and sugar. There’s even a recipe for smoked yogurt. One of the last sections, “A Vegetable Abecerarian” lists all vegetables and the way to prepare and grill them. How to Grill Vegetables is a welcome and necessary addition to all cookbook shelves. It’s a classic. 5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley, Workman Publishing Company and Steven Raichlen for this ARC.

Go-to guide for grilling vegetables with pics!

A well-organized and photographed cookbook. Steven Raichlen explores so many vegetables through a variety of grilling techniques, which are thoroughly explained and include ingredients that are easy to find, as long as the vegetable is in season. I really appreciated the explanations of the types of grills, fuel, and gear needed as well as the "grilling hacks" found throughout. Many of the recipes have variations of the ingredients for example, wood-grilled bruschetta could be grilled with tomatoes and ricotta or toasted pine nut and goat cheese. Overall, a thorough exploration of a variety of vegetables and how to grill them. Thanks to NetGalley, Steven Raichlen, and Workman Publishing Company for an advanced eBook in exchange for my honest review.

Will tempt any foodie

How to Grill Vegetables - The New Bible for Barbecuing Vegetables over Live Fire by Steven Raichlen will up the playing-with-fire game of any adventurous griller. But that doesn’t mean that the author skimps on basics when it comes to illustrating the various grilling methods and when each should be used. He also describes many of the ingredients and provides their genesis. These recipes, clearly a labor of love, will tempt any foodie. The Spicy Smoke Chickpeas, Zucchini “Burnt Ends” and the Ultimate Smoked Baked Beans are definitely on my short list. But the section that I actually like the best is the Vegetable Abecedarian, which gives the grilling basics for almost any vegetable that the reader can imagine. I can definitely see myself referring this section on a regular basis and working my way through the rest of the recipes. Can’t wait for grilling season! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy and all opinions are my own.
