Good but more USB Port Cs needed

I have a new HP laptop which has USB C power connection. The laptop has just two USB C ports so a docking station is a necessity. The Thunderbolt is great as it also acts as the battery pack but a few more USB C ports would be handy.

HP Thunderbolt Dock 280W G4 - shorts monitors

Thunderbolt was defective, and it caused my two HP 24es monitors to short-black out seconds at a time. It could be better when presenting and you can't see the screen. The good news is that HP sent a replacement unit for me to try. Post-service support was excellent. Will report back if this new unit fails.

Unbelievable, brand new G4dock & Z-book & a week later they still don't work properly! T4 issues!

INitally the doclk di not work at all, not even the USB A let alone the Type C port. After many hours with HP technical support undating drivers it now works 80% but the UCB C which is meant to be Thunderbolt 4 does not work. It is extremely frustrarting and to make things worse differen support persons from HP will tell yuo that it is not compatible with a HP Z-book Power G9, and then other will tell you, oph sorry yes it is. They still can't work out why the T4 poret is not allowing conneciton to an external monitor. COnsidering I bough the dock with a new Z-book I didn't expect there should be a singl e issue let alone the numerous ongoing issues I am expreriencing still! Unbelievable! That said, all the HP support are very good and make up for the hardware issues!

HP Dock review

Unit seems very good but does not have an audio connection from existing 3.5mm plug ins and converters from 3.5mm to YSB C do not seem to work .
