Shrunk after first wash

My toddler is two yers old. I wanted something decent size because he is taller than average. Carter's worked ok but I always thought carter was a little smaller than other brands. I was wrong. Carter's knit is so that it stretches on my toddler. Of course it can't stretch forever. So, I decided to give these a try as previously with some other items this brand was a bit larger than carters. Well, when I received these, at first I was pretty happy to see they were a tiny bit longer on hips than carters. The crotch part is short though, probably meant for girls only. But then, I used one right away and washed the others to clean out the excess dyes. Guess what. I am so so disappointed. After wash it shrunk to at least 1 size, an inch or even more. So much that I can't use it anymore. Came out like 12-18 months old size. If you buy, consider one size up. Otherwise, wouldn't recommend it.
