easy way to a healthy meal

I have always preferred steamed vegetables and fish so in 1964 while living near sanfrancisco's china town I bought a bamboo steamer and fell in love with the ease of use and the taste of prepared food. bamboo steamers are easy to care for and last almost forever,

Good Product

Good price for the product, however the wood would bent after several uses.

Adequate.

I used this to replace a 12 inch steamer I had purchased at a Chinese cook wear shop. The previous unit lasted 10 years. This product is not as well made and I do not anticipate it lasting as long. It does appear to be adequate for steaming. I do prefer the 12 inch over the 10 inch size ( this product). The 12 inch sits better over the wok. This is less expensive than the item I purchased at the cook wear shop.

A very well made bamboo steamer!

Great hand made product, wonderful quality, really nice and good looking, I have had it for a few months now, I love it. I don't understand the complains, are people expecting it to be "Nonstick"? It's made by nature material-bamboo which means it will get some stains no matter how you clean it, but does it matter? The stain won't hurt you. What's important is that you want to let it dry thoroughly when it's not in use, and usually you want to have a thin cheese clothes underneath to prevent the food stick on the steamer when you steam food.. Please know that hand made bamboo products look like this takes skills.

Great Utility but has major Issues

At first when I got this product, I was really happy with the food it steamed. However, after using it three four times, I noticed two big problems. Cleaning the product was tough with the wood splintering in multiple areas. Then I noticed my steamer slowly started to get black spots around the edges, nooks, and corners, which turned out to be mildew! It is permanently stained. I cannot use the steamer anymore.

Bent baskets

The baskets are not well made. The sides of one basket were bent and the baskets do not stack up very well.
