Runs really small

For reference I am 5'5, 120 lbs and more on the curvy side. These pants run really small. I normally wear a 1 or 2 depending on the brand but a 1 for this brand fits more like a 0 or 00 (being an xxs). Luckily I listened to the reviews and also bought a size up (3) just in case it wouldn’t fit but even then it was still pretty tight. It barely fit past my thighs and it’s so tight in the crotch area too with no stretch. I probably could’ve just bought a 5 to fit me but in the end decided it was too much effort. Sadly ended up returning. :( which is such a shame because it's such a cute design..
