The Intex Solar Heater Mat is an energy-efficient way to capture the sun's rays to heat up your above-ground swimming pool. With all-natural sun usage, this heating panel requires no electricity. Using the natural power of the sun to warm your pool water, the mat increases the temperature by approximately 5 to 9 degrees Fahrenheit depending on the weather. Designed to work with a variety of Intex filter pumps, this heater is compatible with filter pumps with up to 1/3 HP or a pump flow rate of less than 2,000 GPH. Suitable for above-ground pools of up to 8000 gallons. This mat functions well with multiple solar pads, coming with adapters and attachment points that fit 1.25 and 1.5-inch hoses. Make sure you get the most out of your splash zone and hook up this pool water heater to others if you've got a larger pool. Constructed of heavy-duty UV stabilized PVC, this mat will stand up to the summer sun and folds nicely for compact storage when winter comes around.

Good value

Own 3 of these, two of which are 4 years old. No issues, although the use of black tubing makes it challenging to ensure the rubber seals are properly seated when assembling. "Wrinkles" for lack of a better term cause some crimping/ collapsing of some channels near the valve fitting which probably affect the flow rate, but even so we have to bypass them by late afternoon on a really hot day as the temp exceeds 92 C in our 10 ft Intex pool. They're not perfect but they work!!

Works Great!

I modified the fittings to be run by a solar pond pump. Works great, pushes out warm water when the sun is up, turns of when the sun is down. Definitely a good buy.
