HEAVY DUTY SHEAR

This is an excellent shear. It is strong and cut so smoothly on the chicken. No other shears that I have used can cut so nicely. I am glad I bought this shear. Worth every penny!

That's not a bone you're hitting - it's the blades

The look and feel of these shears is just what I wanted. Unfortunately, the alignment of the two blades is not accurate. The result is that the lower part of the blades hit each other as I was cutting through the chicken. I thought I had just hit a hard bone, so I kept trying. On further inspection, the blades themselves were hitting each other, preventing the shears from closing and completing the cut. Perhaps I just got an item that got past the quality inspectors? I'm willing to try a replacement.
