The website indicates it's a suede boot and looks like suede only it isn't. It's leather. Otherwise a nice fit.

Large ankle opening.

Wanted to love these so much because I needed an almond toe. However the ankle opening is huge on me. Also I felt the zipper would likely not hold up with repeated use.
