Defected, bad customer service

So I ordered this t-shirt and I didn’t know it was a final sale, it was defected from the front with 3 small holes, they refused to return because of the final sale policy, ok that’s fine, but the policy that I don’t understand is that I can’t get a plastic bag to put it in while shopping in store, it doesn’t fit in my crossbody bag so I just left. I felt that I was punished for trying to return it, smh.
