Fabric ripped after first wash

Wore it once. Fit and style was good. Fabric felt somewhat stiff and had this out of production smell. Decided to wash it in my washing machine. After short gentle cycle in the dryer was surprised to see ripped fabric by the neck opening area. Never had this happen before to any of my clothing in a lifetime. Returned as damaged.
