Cute online but disappointing in person

I took a chance on this necklace for Valentine's Day but had to return it. The large and small hearts were very appealing in the photo online, but while the stones are a shiny and beautiful red color, they kept flipping to the reverse side, which is gold metal. So the overall effect is that you can see some of the colored stones but some are backwards, and they flip quite easily even if you place them right-side up. Also, I know this is fashion jewelry, but the metal chain spacers in between the stones look kin of bright and cheap, especially at this price point.
