Cats!

This is a great story about a girl dealing with friendship issues and saving money for camp. I love that all 218 cats of Ms. Lang's have their own personality and special skills. Katie the Catsitter is a clever superhero/villain story. I can't wait for the sequel to come out next year!

For lovers of Graphic Novels, Superheroes, and Cat

The cover and the title of this book is what totally caught my attention. Graphic novel, cats, and superheroes, awesome! I have to admit that you had me at cats. I think this middle grade book is perfect for those girls that are right at that tween/teen age, trying to find their way with changing friendships and figuring out their place in the world. It’s summer and Katie’s best friends are going to a sleep away camp, unfortunately Katie cannot afford to go. So she tries out various jobs (unsuccessfully), to raise money to meet her friends at camp. After giving up, her mysterious neighbor, Ms. Lang, offers an interesting opportunity. Katie finds out that the Ms. Lang works nights, like her mother, and needs help cat sitting her 217 cats. YES, 217 CATS! And they are not ordinary cats, they can use a computer (to order pizza), work a tv remote to watch movies, and even sew! Hilarious! Katie becomes suspicious of Ms. Lang’s line of work, and thinks she might be the Supervillain the Mousetress. The storyline is super cute and also subtly weaves in some life lessons. The illustrations are amazing and would definitely keep any young middle grader intrigued. I can see my 13yo, who is not quite ready for the yucky romance novels, who thinks boys are gross, and loves to watch Marvel movies with her bff, totally loving this book. I have provided this honest review in exchange for the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley and Random House Kids.

New Hero to Root For

Katie the Catsitter is perfect for fans who like cats and superheroes. In this graphic novel, Katie tries to save money to go to camp with her friends. The only job that she seems to be good at it watching her neighbor's cats - the hundred or so cats who seem to have special abilities. There is also something not quite right with the neighbor who owns these cats, so Katie tries to solve the mystery. This story was action packed and fun. Readers are sure to enjoy what appears to be the start of a great series. I can't wait to read more. Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Fun

Looking for a summer job.... filled with cats and a super hero/villain shenanigans? Well here we are! This fun and quirky adventure follows a girl named Katie who is hoping to raise money to fund her trip to camp. Trying out for all sorts of job she finally lands a gig as a catsitter for her mysterious upstairs neighbor. Heres where things get weird, she’s catsitting around 200 cats and these are definitely not normal cats! Filled with fun mischief and adventure, the story is a great and fun read! Definitely would recommend it for middle grade readers ( especially for any cat lovers out there!). The artwork is adorable and this graphic novel is just a all around great read! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! ]
