No replacement carafe
The carafe is extremely fragile. Mine broke with the slightest tap on the sink, and I cannot find a replacement anywhere. Without a carafe, the machine is completely useless. Unless the company makes replacements easily available, I would not recommend buying this product!

Can't re-heat left over coffee
Coffee is only warm for 4 hours and there is no option to turn on hot plate in case I want to reheat leftover coffee in the afternoon

Water pours of of the lid when removing filter
We’ve been loyal to this KitchenAid coffee maker model for years—our previous one served us well for over five years, and when it came time to replace it, we didn’t hesitate to purchase the same model again. The build quality remains excellent. The matte charcoal finish looks sleek on the counter, and the materials still feel solid and durable. However, this new unit has a significant design flaw that affects usability. After brewing, when lifting the lid to remove the used paper filter, water unexpectedly pours out from the underside of the lid, splashing onto the counter and surrounding area. This happens consistently, regardless of how carefully the lid is opened. It’s messy, frustrating, and quite disappointing for a product that otherwise feels so well made. We’re surprised and disappointed by this performance issue—especially since the older version of the same model never had this problem.

The superlative coffeemaker!
This is the best coffeemaker we've ever owned, and we've had quite a few. It seems KitchenAid covered every possible angle with this unit. What surprised me most is how the carafe mouth is designed. It pours in a smooth stream without frothing or aerating the coffee! So it stays fresh longer. I have never seen that before. But it's all very impressive - especially the drip head. Your engineers really outdid themselves with that. A small burst of hot water lands perfectly in the center, while a larger burst gets evenly distributed wider among the grounds, yet still centered. It's ingenious - the grounds don't get bypassed at all, and the brewing happens orderly. Our previous maker which was also a KitchenAid lasted about a decade of twice daily use. This one seems at least as well made, and is far better designed. As a bonus, the design is very elegant; I consider it beautiful. Hats off to KitchenAid on this unit. You hit an absolute home run!

Great Taste, Great Looking, To much water
The craftsmanship and quality of the Coffee maker deserves a 5 star, it makes you want to leave it out on the counter and show it off. The option to use paper filters or the provided stainer allows you to run out of paper filters and still make a great tasting pot of coffee early in the morning without stress, having to get dressed or paying for a cup of coffee at the coffee shop. The strainer comes with a built-in coffee ground measuring indicator which is easy to see and is accurate. THE BAD, you need several paper towels ready when lifting the lid and removing the stainer or paper filter. LOTS of water drips off the lid onto both sides of the coffee maker, on to the warming pad, and your counter. BUMMER
