I do not recommend to anyone
I bought this KitchenAid mixer about a month ago. I had to return the first one because it suddenly shut off and stopped working. Unfortunately, the replacement has now done the same thing. It completely stopped working while I was simply making cookies. This was my first KitchenAid mixer, and I’m honestly very disappointed. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product. Reliability should not be an issue at this price point, especially for basic tasks like cookie dough.

Absolutely the best mixer ever made. With the slim design makes it easy to store . Strong enough to mix any batter you need even home made bread. Smooth running and easy to use controls which I like. Clean up is easier then another brand out there.

dough hook is chipping
mixer is ok, the dough hook is chipping, and since it was purchased over 1 year, i am out of luck... this should not be happening to a kitchenaid appliance... quality is going downhill...

Longer attachments, shallower bowl
We have the same size (5.5 Quart) bowl-lift KitchenAid Mixer from the early 2010s so we were able to do a head to head comparison with this newest edition. This one wins! The attachments are longer and the bowl is shallower, so they reach to the bottom and are more effective. The dough hook is awesome! The body of the appliance has less holes/gaps so it feels cleaner and more buttoned up. Another upgrade is the addition of 1/2 steps up in speed. Overall, this beat the old mixer in every way.

Powerful and sleek design
I received the KitchenAid® 5.5 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer free to try from Influenster in exchange for my honest opinion. Setup was simple and straightforward, and the attachments are incredibly easy to pop on and off. The bowl did take me a little time to figure out at first, but once I got the hang of it, it hasn’t been an issue since. It mixes very powerfully and quickly. The machine itself is pretty heavy, which actually reinforces how solid and well-built it feels — it stays firmly in place while you’re using it despite its surprisingly small footprint. The sleek gray color we received, Contour Silver, goes perfectly with our stainless steel appliances and looks beautiful on the countertop. I also love that you can add different attachments (sold separately) to make things like ice cream or fresh pasta. It’s great not having to buy a whole separate machine if those are things you want to do.

Super sturdy
Love this! I’ve been wanting it for SO long! Mixes very well. Prior to having this i’d mix by hand it was never fully mixed so, this helps so much. Great power levels. Super heavy and sturdy and gets the job done super fast and thorough without having to use as much man power. So many different things you can use it for. I’m so excited to learn more.

Nice product - terrible support
I purchased this mixer for my wife. Unfortunately, the mixer came with the planetary assembly separated from the mixer - these are supposed to come assembled. While the mixer itself seems well made, their support is awful. Over the period of two days I spent 3.5 hours on hold waiting to speak to a product specialist. Unfortunately for me, my job got in the way of being able to complete the wait - still trying to determine if the unit needs to be sent back or repaired. Good luck!!
