Jar leaks - bad design - avoid
Blender gifted to me from my mom three years ago for Christmas, now on second jar, it’s leaking again, nasty brown stuff leaking into the motor, and appears to be leaking into my food. I wouldn’t trust using this, and now I’m worried about how long I’ve been consuming whatever chunks of metal and oil have come out of the jar into my food. Avoid this model.

Great work horse blender!
Works as well as my OLD Vita-mix at a fraction of the cost! I am able to load my blender with my morning smoothie of ice, frozen fruit and other goodies, and she blends them up as smooth a silk. Other than the noise of the frozen fruit and ice blending the blender is not very loud. Clean up is easy. I can add soap and water and mix a minute, or wash by hand. The blades are not sharp so never a fear of cuts.

Great blender! I use it almost everyday and it is very reliable. Not too big, not too small--fits perfect on my kitchen counter.

Only one major flaw.
I've had this blender for less than a year. I'm very happy with the look, function, and power. The big issue is the base of the jar. The seals around the shaft did not perform as expected. The shaft for the blades is loose and leaks. I am disappointed, as I expected better from the brand.

Same leaking issue as others have reported.
I am having the same issue as the others who have given it a single star. The jar has started leaking brown liquid and there is no way, seemingly, to replace the gasket. Like others I decided to spend more for this blender because I have had good success with other Kitchenaid products. I am not prepared to spend almost half the cost of the blender to replace the jar given that it seems Kitchenaid has not rectified the design flaw.
