I purchased this espresso machine because my friend had an earlier model and really liked it. It works very well and so far I've had no problems.
Great little machine at a great price.
I had been looking to get an espresso machine for daily use but I didn't want to spend too much money on it. After much deliberation, I decided on this one and I am SO pleased with my purchase. Both my boyfriend and I are very experienced "baristas". I worked in a coffee shop for years and he owned one, and we both have been very satisfied with this machine. If you have ANY experience at all, it's a breeze to use and clean and it makes great drinks. If you have litle to no experience, it's a great machine to start on. Just make sure you clean it after each use (empty grounds, rinse and replace wand, wipe down and dump excess water after steaming), it'll prolong the life of the machine. We use it a few times a day and it's great!
Best Espresso Machine
I love this espresso machine! It's my first one and it is fantastic. I started using it a few days ago and I haven't had any issues with it so far. It is very easy to use, just make sure to wipe clean the steam nozzle after each time you use it. I am a self proclaimed Starbucks addict, and seeing that the closest store to me is about 30 minutes away, I save both time AND money with this machine. I use the Starbucks espresso beans and syrups to make lattes, mochas, etc., and it always comes out tasting great! Highly recommend this machine by Krups!
Best Working Machine Ever!
We have been using this machine for almost 30 years. They typically last about 5 years. As long as you clean them regularly with vinegar (1 carafe x2 followed by 1 carafe water), they do a great job. The minerals in your water cause the clogs. We use this at least twice a day for capachino.
The biggest short coming on an otherwise good product
This machine is priced very resonable but they left off one key capability. The ability for it to heat the water without both the expresso side and the milk frother side shut off. You really want a machine that can be turned to milk frothing and have a separate knob to shut the steam off. This allows the steam to build without comming out at a below pressure (e.g. warm water) rate. It does have a center position but in that position the heating is turned off. Just one small knob from being a 5 star great device. I set it to froth and hold something over the frothing exit until it has build up enough pressure and then switch it to expresso first and then to steaming the milk. Going to buy something to replace this otherwise perfect machine.
Love this Espresso machine
My Husband gave me a Kurps Espresso Machine in 2000 and I still have it. This is a great machine. It's small, and fits in my Little kitchen, but makes a great cup of espresso. I will be ordering a replacement.
I have this for years now
I think I bought in 2007 or 2006. It is 2012 now. Still love it and still working. It makes really nice latte and espresso. If you know how to make it. Just clean the froth nose and you're good to go.
better cappucino and espresso than restaurants
The cappucino and espresso from this compact machine beat what you can buy for top dollar in any restaurant. Not recommended for novices because the pod holder takes skill to set into place when making espresso and there is quite a bit of advanced skill needed to avoid extensive cleanup after frothing., not a drawback if you are experienced and want toe beat the pros tastewise.
