Tarnished ring

Ring unfortunately came in very tarnished. I did not want to return as the ring is what I needed for a gift (individuals personal style) they had none in left for stock for an even exchange. I was told I would have to pay myself for the ring to be re-dipped in the 14k gold which I should not be responsible for since item was sent defective. I spoke to customer service they were great and overall did everything they could as per policy. They did end up giving me an additional percentage off for the ring being tarnished.
