This mascara has a unique, new-generation, wax-free formula that needs to be activated before use by swirling the brush in the tube at least 8 times, or swiping in and out (avoid pumping), to mix the ingredients. For application, use the "8" side of the brush to coat your lashes and build volume, then use the flat side to lift and sculpt. Fantastic!
This mascara is really very good! It adds amazing volume and length to the lashes without clumping or smudging. The brush coats every lash evenly, making my eyes look wide and defined. It stays put all day and is easy to remove — absolutely love it!

I loved the color and nothing else.
I loved the color and nothing else. I thought I had received an expired container of mascara until I read the other reviews. The mascara was dry. I found applying it to my lashes a significant struggle getting weird coverage results not matter how I turned or angled the wand. The mascara didn't last more than a few hours and it continually flaked. I found bits of blue on my cheeks throughout the few times I wore Le 8 Hypnose with Serum. This is not what I expect from Lancome products at all and certainly not for a high-priced product.

The Color Is Beautiful. The Formula Is Horrible
I am looking for a long lasting purple mascara. I had high hopes for this formula, especially the treatment aspect. I got the purple color. I received it this afternoon. I applied it while working from home, so nothing too strenuous or hot. I walked by a mirror 30 minutes after applying it. My under eye area was covered with purple flakes! It has now been 3 hours and the smudges are extensive. I only gave this two stars for the color.
