Buyer beware

Purchased for my daughter. We removed the tags and washed for first wear. Removed from dryer and noticed large patches of the fabric had lost color making the pants unacceptable to wear to school. I attempted to return in store at Macy’s due to fabric defect. Macy’s associate told me I needed to contact Lands End directly because this was a 3rd party vendor. I contacted Lands End through Macy’s website and was told to visit customerservice-macys.com to begin a return. Macy’s says contact Lands End Lands End says contact Macy’s No one is willing to assist, just shift the customer service to another company. My time in trying to resolve this issue is already greater than the value of the pants. My only recourse is to not purchase items that are not sold directly from Macy’s in the future and provide warning to others not purchase from Lands End through Macys
