Lands' EndPlus Size Squall Packable Waterproof Raincoat

Disappointed

I bought this coat for a trip, wanting the waterproof feature and used it only for this trip. It picked up stains quickly and they will not wash out. I tried chatting with someone, but they were not helpful at all and didn't want to take the time to help me further. They only told me to use stain remover, which I already had. I did not expect this, especially from Lands' End. It is embarrassing to tell people where I got this coat and the lack of support given. I liked the fit of the coat, but very disappointed in how it soaked up what seems to be a liquid stain. Didn't expect that from a water resistant coat.

Packs small, easy to fit in backpack for travel

I bought this for a November tour in Ireland, where rain was likely every day. It really does compress into the right pocket. I bought a size up so I could wear it over a fleece or my heavy puffer winter jacket if the temps dropped. Layering it over a fleece jacket was warm enough even in strong winds, until the wind chill dipped to 30 F. We had heavy downpours several days on the tour, and the rain did not soak through, although when drenched on the outside, it felt cooler as if it was damp, but it wasn't . Some people on the tour had their raincoats saturate. great raincoat!!

Not great at keeping you dry

I was looking for a lightweight raincoat to wear on my daily walks through the neighborhood. This may be great for some climates, but in the PNW it got soaked through. Photos are after a 30-min walk in light rain-- the entire inner hood and lining were soaked. I did like this jacket otherwise, but if it can't keep you dry it defeats the purpose, sadly.

Perfect for rain and layering

I brought this in the summer for a trip I was taking this fall to an area that would have changing weather. This was Perfect! It is truly waterproof, one day it poured cats and dogs, and I was in and out of the rain and it kept me dry. I also used it for layering since it was cool in the mornings and warmer in the afternoon, it was not too heavy and did not overheat. I had on a 3/4 sleeve T-shirt, a zip-up sweatshirt and this jacket, it was the right combination for changing weather. Temps were 50's in AM and high 60's , low 70's in afternoon. I used this on a combination cruise /train trip. It was long enough to cover my crossbody purse underneath safely, finally for my plus size sisters, it covered the hips nicely and comfortably. Definitely worth the price. Ordering another one in Navy.

Not what I would call waterproof

I absolutely love the color and fit of this raincoat. However, I was soaked to the bone this past weekend when wearing though a steady shower. More what I would call water resistant, definitely not waterproof.

I bought this coat a month ago. On rainy and windy mornings I wear it when walking my dog. It keeps me warm and resists the rain. Love that the hood has an extended bill…I don’t have to wear a cap underneath!
