New to button down shirts

I really like the shirt, however if I keep it I'm going to cut the ties off. While they look cute in the picture, they arent practical.They will get dipped into everything because they are long. Unless you are going to be on display away from food, dust, spills, etc, they are no good. But I love the cuffs. They are sturdy and a nice touch to add to ones wardrobe. The tail is not long, just a traditional length (I think) & tucks nicely into slacks. However, this shirt does run REALLY small, but proportionate. I recommend going up from Petite to Reg & Reg to Tall at your normal size (S,M,L) to start. I find LE is so inconsistant, but im generally a PM, PL or S, M, relative to the item style. I am 5'1, curvy, short torso, sm shoulders & 34DDD. My real size, made correctly, is a 12P pant, a PL/PM or MED in tops depending on the fit im going for. I purchased the M. It seems like it fit well everywhere with plenty of room to layer.
