Good Coverage

Laura Mercier never disappoints. I discovered it in the early 2000s and loved their compact powder foundation. Unfortunately, they stopped making it and have this new edition. I like it...but not as much.

Hate itt.

I’m so sad they discontinued the flawless foundation powder it was so perrrfect. This one looks cheap, has less product and separates on my skin. I wanted to love it but I’ll need to find something else /:

Not what I hoped for

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Very disappointed the smooth finish foundation powder was discontinued as it has been my holy grail for over 10 years. This new product is okay but I’m not excited about it. The compact design is awkward to open without the sponge flying out, so it constantly feels like the compact is going to fumble out of my hands and drop on the floor. Coverage is good but can easily look powdery and needs a lot of buffing afterwards. However, I don’t find the shade matching from the smooth finish to the feather matte to be accurate. I was using 1N2 before; 1C was suggested for my new shade, but I find it to be way too pink for my fair skin and it somehow makes me look very washed out. I’m hoping to exchange the 1C for 1N in hopes it’s a better match otherwise I’ll be on the hunt for a new powder foundation. Huge bummer to have such a great product to be discontinued and to be let down by the replacement.

Not the same but not bad

Definitely not the old formula but also isn’t terrible. It doesn’t wear like the old formula as the day goes on it does start to separate. Does take a bit getting used to. My biggest issue is you get less product for the same price. I don’t know how they can justify that.

Bring back Smooth Finish Foundation Powder!

I tried this as a replacement for the Smooth Finish Foundation Powder, and while the recommended replacement shade was pretty accurate, this product is less than mediocre. It looks powdery on my skin (with the exact same prep as used for the Smooth Finish Foundation Powder), did not cover redness or imperfections well, and really settled into my fine lines and wrinkles. I actually compared the powders side by side on half my face and from the beginning of application to end of day, it looked obvious that I was wearing powder on the side with the Real Flawless powder, which is neither flawless or light as a feather. Very disappointed and will be looking for another brand when I’ve previously been a loyal customer for years and years.
