Cute but tight from knee up

According to chart I ordered S but too small. I usually wear 6=8, so I would need a M. Tight in hips and thigh and boot-cut in calf. They are long, 32 in. At 5ft 6in too long for me unless I'm wearing 4 in heels. Buttons have nice dark antique finish. Love the side zip. Not tailored for my body so I'm returning.
