Sheds on Clothes - Not Ralph Lauren Quality

I am a huge fan of Ralph Lauren and own a number of cardigans and sweaters that are wool, cashmere or wool blend. I've always found them to be of exceptional quality and I love the timeless look of RL items. However, this one was a massive disappointment. I'm 5'5 and 140 pounds and I ordered the small and it was huge! It also felt very shapeless. It was draping on me to the point that it looked like a house robe. When I tried it on over one of my black long sleeve shirts, I was horrified to find that it shed all over my black shirt. I've heard that you can freeze a wool sweater in a bag overnight to "lock in the fibers" and prevent it from shedding, so I gave this a shot...however, it did not work and the sweater still shed. For a RL item, shedding is the last thing that I would expect. Really disappointed in what I thought would be a quality item. I returned it.
