Try on is a must.

I tried this on in the store in an xxl, it was a little tight across the chest so I thought ordering a 1x would be fine. It was actually smaller than the xxl and it fit my sister who wears a medium top and size 10 jeans. I am a size 16 overall. Disappointed that I have to reorder and ship back at my own. expense.
