Cute top but runs small; order 1-2 Sizes up

I received the Cute Ralph Lauren Top today but was disappointed as it is too small. I normally wear a Size Large but ordered an XL so that the fit would be roomier. In order for that to happen, I would have needed an XXL! I plan to return the Ivory-colored top to the store and may get the Navy in an XL if the fit is not as tight.
