Nice oval Dutch oven.
I bought this oval Dutch oven to cook whole stewing hens. Stewing hens are egg-laying chickens that no longer sis able to lay eggs. These hens are tough, but if boiled in water at a low temp in the oven, these hens become tender and fall of the bone.
