Good value for money

Hello, The model looks good all in all for its price. But please let us know what are the correspondent functions for the colored sections in the left side of the brain (which are colored brown, blue and green)? It is not mentioned anywhere. Thank you in advance!

Carelessly Manufactured

They sold me a defective set. I watched a video on how to assemble it and one of the pieces just simply would not fit where it belonged. I followed the instructions to a T, and again, I watched a video on how to assemble the model, so I know how to it is supposed to be done. I tried everything and spent hours on it. I'm not nearly as mad about the waste of money that this was as I am about the time wasted trying to assemble defective parts. I am a graduate student and had to assemble this model for a grade. Thanks to Learning Resources, not only did I waste time, money, and effort; but I also nearly received a zero for a grade. I had to jump through several hoops to avoid that. I want my money back...

Unpractical for demonstration purposes to students

Advertised as recommended for ages 8 and above, this product (a bit smaller than a regular adult fist), is detailed enough to describe basic brain anatomy. Actual brain model colors differ from those shown at the package and instructions manual (more to the pink color side). Sections can be separated and details are not only on the outside but also on the inside. Its size makes it quite pocketable. It requires time to assemble it the first time but, with practice, it gets easier over time. With instructions based on a picture principle to assembly and no words, it makes it easier to follow it, despite the language. However, details explaining brain areas are available in English only. Colored sections around the left side of the brain (colored brown, blue and green), are not specified in their particular corresponding functions. Due to the order and pressure required to assemble it, pieces keep together firmly, but it makes it difficult to assemble and disassemble it quickly for demonstration purposes to students with limited time. Also, because of its small size, demonstration for a large group would require the use of additional devices such as a computer cam and a class projector, in order to make it visible for everyone in real time. Some issues include: When taking apart a section, pressure wins and a piece may stay attached on the "wrong side"; in my case, a specific part didn't fit as it should to assemble a section (even with additional pressure to try to make it fit) and, since the corpus callosum is a small separated part, it may fall easily and get lost during a limited time demonstration. Because of the issues presented above, I think it's a little bit pricey for the regular quality it offers. A magnetic assembly mechanism would make a great improvement for this model.

I found it useful for learning about brain anatomy

I used it to get myself familiarized with the location of different key parts before I ventured into studying it in a human brain atlas book.

Too small & detailed for kids

This thing is TINY and not at all recommended for a kid's science fair project. We ended up ordering a cheaper, larger, but still accurate product elsewhere online and were thrilled with that product.
