Great investment, though lacks variety.

Connections are tough. That heavy work ended up being therapeutic. Mathlink cubes have been the single most played with toy in our household for 3yrs. They just need more variety, faces, add ons etc

Fun Activity Set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 6 year old loves to play with the blocks. But we also love to do the cards and work on the problems. His big brother definitely helps and loves to work on them with him. They are super durable, colorful, and who doesn't love Dino's!

Wonderful, hands on learning tool!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love the Educational Insights MathLink® Cubes. We specifically have the Kindergarten Dino set, but this product is so versatile it can be used with or without the included dino math cards. I love that it is engaging, builds fine motor skills, teaches through hands on play and durable. The MathLink cubes were always a favorite activity of mine when I was in school - I love that my children now have the opportunity to learn through explorative play with the same cubes! Highly recommend

Versatile and fun to use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first heard I was getting to try these, I was imagining some simple cubes that connect to each other to form rows. I was wrong! These are cubes that connect to each other, but they have points you can connect on each side that allows you to form a variety of shapes. In addition, each of these points has a simple shape inside. In addition, the blocks come in ten bright and beautiful colors. When you mix the colors and shapes you can create a wide variety of patterns, so just the base blocks alone are worth it! In addition, the kit comes with fifteen activity cards with a variety of activities that help teach concepts such as addition, subtraction, patterns, size comparison, and graphing. These cards can be used multiple times when you use dry erase markers! Some of the cards also include a pattern that shows how to make a variety of Dinosaurs. The box is small and perfect for holding the blocks, so keeping them contained and separated from other toys is very easy. The box is easy to open, so my son can open it on his own when he wants to play with them. My son loves playing with these blocks and making patterns. He likes creating a pattern and having us replicate it, and he enjoys following the patterns to create the dinosaurs. He loves showing these off to his grandparents and other people we interact with regularly. He's even started to try and make his own shapes and creatures. Overall, we love these blocks. They can be used in a variety of ways, allowing us to build on the mathematical concepts my son already understands while also introducing new ideas. My son comes up with new ideas to make with them every time we use them. I would love to get other sets to increase the variety of things that he can make with the cubes. If I had one improvement I would like to see in these cubes, it would probably be just to add one of the connecting pieces to one of the sides of the cubes in addition to the one at the bottom. Right now, the cubes have one point that connects to another cube, but has five different sides it can connect to. This is useful because you can change the direction of the cube to build different rows -- however, because the rows only connect from one point, my son accidentally breaks the rows apart while trying to build. Having an extra point that connects would provide a little more stability to the build.
