bad design. not sturdy.

We love Lego and have tons of sets. This one is super disappointing. There is not a lot of play surface area for the price and the way it is designed makes it really ineffective for any play at all.

Kaboom!

Well this was a hard set to review. On one hand it looks and feels like a cool set, but on the other it just kinda feels to simple. I built it decently quick and I placed it on the shelf with the rest of my Ninjago Movie sets. When I saw this one up amongst some of my favorite LEGO sets ever it kinda felt weak in comparison. Not to say this is a bad set because its not. It has a good part to piece ratio and some cool minifigures and the finally product is actually pretty cool! I just wish it was more detailed or was bigger. Overall, its a fun set with just a few set backs.

Very new and good value

This set surprised me as the play features were so different than usual and executed so well! The set comes with many rare pieces and great looking prints with the set having detailed references to the movie. The value is extremely good as you get a very high volume of stuff for the price and a unique selection of great looking mini figures, some exclusive that are hard to pass up. The set looks good and has many places to pose figures. The back of the set is a little plain but gives lots of room for a ninja attack! The general firing feature works incredibly and the general attention to detail is so pleasant. I am thrilled with this set and would definitely recommend it.

Garmadon’s Volcano Lair

This set is worth it because it looks great and is fun. The price is also good for the size and how many pieces you get, plus the minifigures are awesome! The set took a lot longer than normal because it’s very easy to break when building. I think I broke it 3 times, but once it gets built it’s very cool and fun! I’d recommend it.

Fire that general!

Kaboom! This is awesome! The gushing lava completes the scene as well as the exploding function. I love the fish tank, too. I know that LEGO has to shorten the size of enormous things in their movies to cover set and piece number standards, so I’m pleased with the overall shape and measurements of this item. It was smart to make two waves of sets so that fans such as myself will be on the edge of their seats waiting for the second wave of iconic vehicles and places to come out, so when they do, fans rush all over to purchase them. The claw arm and the computer add a nice touch ( the little teapot is so cute, too). I had to choose between this or some supercool set, and now, looking back, I don’t think that other one was as good as this.

I bought this set becuase I tend to like playset/locations more than vechiles, and really wanted the Engineer Steve figure. There is a reason it is difficult to find photos of the back of the set. It is flat and boring. There aren’t even any attachment points to build out and make it better. While I’m disapointed with the lack of real estate to pose figures, the set is great price for the size. Also, Engineer Steve does not disapoint.

Great play set

Due to the use of several large parts, this is a big set for the number of pieces. It's nicely built up, especially the 'mouth' part, and everything is easily accessible for human hands. Has some action features, the firing works well and is easy for kids to reset. Some of the minifigures are the highlights; Steve, Four Eyes and General #1 are exclusive to this set. Would have preferred another Shark Army figure instead of Zane. What it has also done, is tied our Shark Army collection together nicely.

Evil Volcano/Ocean Lair

For the price it’s fantastic. Easy to build. Accessible to play. Great features. Place on a blue base and you can make it seem like it’s in the ocean.
