What a huge thumbs down.
I felt like building an inexpensive lego just to kill time and I killed my excitement building this. It is so weirdly designed, cramped, and unfinished. Instead of making it bigger, LEGO just put walls that move. The details are cool enough for 2 stars, but then I thought how quickly I got over this set. Blech. Avoid!

Very Detailed Set!
This is a beautiful display piece. I think the hinged play area is a really cool feature and that the doors still align when the set is opened. I only wish the top floor had a little more. It seems like waster space. Also a dressing room would have been nice for the actress.

Terrible colors
This build is okay in terms of play, but when you get it put together the color scheme is just awful. I'm not sure who came up with those colors, but they don't work. A few interesting parts came with it but I don't recommend it.

Poor Quality Control
The sticker sheet inside is totally a mess. Some of them are loose/dropped and sticked/adhibited on the instruction manual etc. So you can imagine they couldn't be used any more. Very disappointed on Lego's quality control.

Fun to build and to play
The Heartlake City Movie Theater by LEGO is one of my daughter’s favorite sets. There is so much detail put into this set. With my help, it took my daughter (seven-years-old) and myself just over an hour to build. The instructions are easy to follow along, especially since it tells you at the beginning of each section exactly what pieces you will need so you are ready to go. When complete, it is such a fun set to play with. This set opens and closes so you can have outside and inside scenes while playing with your finished movie theater. Overall, this is a great set with a lot of fun accessories to use while playing.

So much fun
My 8 year old daughter received the Heart Lake City Movie theater Lego set fir Christmas from Santa. I helped her build it and we had so much fun doing that together, although she probably could have done it on her own. I love that she has been using the theater for imaginative play and has even incorporated other toys to "come see the shows".

So creative
My 8 year old is in a huge lego phase. She is able to independently complete sets, and this one is no different. I noticed that this one has taken her a bit longer than typical. However, she has enjoyed the entire process without any frustrations. The accessories are adorable- there is popcorn, a “working” movie screen (aka your phone!), 3 dolls (her favorite part). The movie theater element adds a whole new level of creativity- as it allows her to use her imagination to play out scenes with the character and props. Another winning set from lego!
