It's never fun when things don't work as they should. From what you’ve described, a little rebuilding might be in order. You’ll want to make sure that each part is in the exact position shown in the instructions and that everything’s pressed together tightly (except the gears, which need some extra room to turn). This product is good but bad

When i first put this together and transformed it the feet on this car specifically one piece always came off which made the foot come off and its so annoying to transform it everytime

Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. You’ll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together. Enjoyable build but painful transformation

Very clever design and makes me appreciate the designers behind this but the transformation is really painful and the doors kept on falling off. Should have been easier.

Tricky transformation

Great value set! Lots of pieces and not too easy or difficult to assemble. It is quite the thing to"transform" it from one thing to another. You'll have to keep the instruction book handy in order to figure it out. Not sure which way I'll keep him on my shelf. Ingenious engineering though! Way to go Lego designers!

love the transformers from Lego

Absolutely love the design of both Bumblebee and Optimus Prime! That said, Optimus Prime has some trouble standing upright, so a bit more stability would make it perfect.
