Not microwave safe as stated

I just received my order. Beautiful design. Nice weight. My one concern is that the mugs and matching plates say microwave safe. Um I don’t think so. I did give the plates a try in the microwave and sparks started to pop. So I love these but certainly not microwave safe

The mugs were very pretty and well made. I have a hard time separating which pattern I have but they still go pretty well with each other. Really like dealing with Lenox as a company

Halloween mugs

Nicely done. I ordered these as a gift. I wish, however, there were some to match last year's theme - of which I bought the plates for the same person. Would have been nice to have a set.
