Pattern doesn't go all the way around

I received this serving bowl as a gift for my wedding and was disappointed to see that the pattern on the rim of the bowl is missing from about 2 inches of the rim. I'm returning, hoping to get a replacement without this defect.

Gorgeous place setting!
