The 1 New York Times bestselling mostly true memoir from the hilarious author of Furiously Happy. Gaspingly funny and wonderfully inappropriate. O, The Oprah Magazine When Jenny Lawson was little, all she ever wanted was to fit in. That dream was cut short by her fantastically unbalanced father and a morbidly eccentric childhood. It did, however, open up an opportunity for Lawson to find the humor in the strange shame-spiral that is her life, and we are all the better for it. In the irreverent Let's Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson's long-suffering husband and sweet daughter help her uncover the surprising discovery that the most terribly human moments the ones we want to pretend never happened are the very same moments that make us the people we are today. For every intellectual misfit who thought they were the only ones to think the things that Lawson dares to say out loud, this is a poignant and hysterical look at the dark, disturbing, yet wonderful moments of our lives. Really Fun Read!

I don't know this Author at all, I just saw a few recommendations to read her book, that it was pretty good so thought I'd check it out. What a hoot it is! I have to say I enjoyed it. Enjoyed it more probably that I did the audio version, it was read by the Author herself. Loved that she mentioned a few of my favorite things: John Stamos, Danielle Steel books, A Turtle (even though a dead one) and Patchouli.

We All Can Relate in One Way or Another

Jenny has become my favorite non-fiction author. She has an endearing way of explaining right to the reader exactly what she is thinking, while she is thinking it. This book contains tales of her life and growing up in a family that I am thanking God I didn't have to deal with, and yet I am envious of her experiences. You must read this even if only to laugh and feel good about your own life.
