Not like they use to make em!
These jeans are not like the ones that I am use to. The fabric is not as heavy and they don't shrink as much as previous pairs that I have bought. The are little big even after several washings. I guess tradition doesn't last forever! I have been wearing Levi"s 501 shrink to fit for over sixty-five year.

Nearly right
Nearly right! Wish that a length 31 inches were an option

Still 501's, but...
I've been wearing 501's since 1969. I bought 4 pairs about 8 years ago and decided to get a couple new pairs last month. The 32/32 sizes are the same, but the fit is entirely different than 2016 and the fabric is noticeably lighter weight. The waist and legs are now far looser fitting. Doubt these are going to last as long as the last ones.

Follow Care Instructions
And not just on the garment tags. If you are new to raw denim, read the Levi's web pages available regarding care. They are a wealth of information if you want to preserve the color and finish of your jeans. If you are sizing up to shrink-to-fit, use the delicate setting on your washer, or just soak them. Either way, avoid too much agitation, as that will potentially roll seams or create wrinkling. Limit drier time - just dry enough to achieve desired shrinkage. Then just leave them be for a while. Don't over wash. If you are buying true-to-size and want to keep them rigid, great. There is something unique about wearing a pair of jeans that still have the sizing in them. Sizing = a type of starch used in the manufacturing process. Just be aware of potential crocking - color displacement onto skin, light colored shoes. Otherwise, just wear them until you absolutely have to wash them. Then soak in cold water only and hang dry. Shrinkage will be minimized that way. I am a veteran 501 wearer, and the care instructions matter because denim has changed over the decades and requires different treatment. FYI: The garment tags on my thirty-year-old 501s say Wash Hot. Dry Hot. Don't do that to this denim.

Going back to button flys
Fit as Expected, Quality as I remember. Used to wear 501s exclusively. Strayed a bit but now work back to more button flys in my waredrob.

Bought online, exchanged in-store. Excellent.
Exchanged an online purchase in-store. Super easy process. Jeans themselves are the high quality you'd expect

Classics are that for a reason
The Levi's 501 cut and fit are still true to form. Sizing is true.

Dark indigo, RINSE
Not as thick denim as two other pairs bought recently, but still great fit, feel like my jeans and I’ve been a 501 wearer for 30 plus years.
