Really weird fit

I have quite a few Levi's jeans in various styles/colors and sizes ranging from 25-30 due to weight loss, as well as some jackets and shirts. This though is the first time I've been really disappointed. The color, Paradise Found, is great but the fit is absolutely awful. It is the weirdest fitting jeans I've ever tried (and that includes non Levi's jeans). The waist is way too big for the hips. I'm not talking about the waist gap that is common for jeans with certain body types, this is ridiculous. I have heard the same issues from other people and I'm not sure if it's a quality control issue or a design flaw, but I'll be more careful with what I decide to try in the future.
